Vendor Data Access Portal for a Municipal Utility
The Challenge
A municipality's solid waste transfer station relied on an Excel spreadsheet to manually track which utility customers were eligible to use the facility and whether they had already visited. Third-party vendors had no direct way to check eligibility, so staff were fielding lookups by hand against an outdated utility billing customer information system.
What We Built
A custom FastAPI web application that lets approved third-party vendors securely fetch customer and account data directly from the municipality's utility billing system, replacing the spreadsheet with a live, authoritative source of truth.
The Result
Eligibility and visit checks that used to require a manual lookup are now instant and self-service for vendors, and staff no longer maintain a spreadsheet that could drift out of sync with the source system.

An automated workflow built with Fortra GoAnywhere, custom API integrations, and Azure Functions that replaced the manual process end to end.
The Result
The automation saves the municipality more than 24 hours of manual data entry every week, freeing staff to focus on work that actually needs a person.
